you must be obsessed
obsession isn't something you force, it just happens, it's the next step if you truly believe in something.
if you have an idea you actually care about, you have to be obsessed with it. and no, this isn't some motivational quote from tiktok. it's just the truth.
say you're 20, like me, and you have a startup idea, a real one, something with actual potential. then you need to be obsessed.
honestly, i could talk about this for hours, but it's like trading. someone could spend years explaining to you why controlling your emotions matters, literally years and you'd agree with every word, you'd think you're ready and then one day you're up way too much or down way too much, and your calm, your discipline, your sanity just disappear. you're stunned, stuck, frozen. you don't really understand it until you've felt it. obsession is the same. you can't learn it from a post. you either feel it or you don't.
plenty of people will read this and think i'm wrong and dumb and that's fine, i get it. not everyone sees the world the same way, and that doesn't make anyone smarter or dumber but if you know, you know. you feel it, and you'll understand every word of this.
i genuinely believe that if you really want something, whatever it is, if it's your dream and you're willing to work on it day and night, then obsession isn't something you force, it just happens, it's the next step, if you truly believe in an idea, you don't treat it like a hobby or a side project and if you do, you don't believe in it enough.
one more thing: if you're building with a team, who you build with is everything.
you want people who are just as hungry as you. people who are obsessed. people who'll give it every last bit of energy they have. this isn't optional. nobody on that team gets to treat it like a side project. nobody. it doesn't work that way. it never will.
you gotta be obsessed. unstoppable. ignore people. ignore the noise.
stay obsessed. there is no other way.
